Where 192.com gets your details
192.com is the UK's best-known people-search website. It builds its listings from sources including the open electoral register and the phone directory, and shows Companies House information about directors. That's why it can show your address, an age range and other people at your address.
Removing your listing deals with 192.com. To stop new data being sold in the first place, also opt out of the open electoral register and go ex-directory if you have a landline.
Step by step
- Search 192.com for your name and town, so you know what's there.
- Open the removal form at 192.com/c01/new-request.
- Enter your name and the address you want removed, and an email address you can get to now. You can include close family members at the same address on the same form.
- Submit the form, then open the email from 192.com and click the confirmation link. Check your junk folder if it doesn't arrive.
- Repeat for each previous address, with a separate form.
- Check again after a couple of days. If the listing still shows on Google, use Google's "Results about you" tool.

Questions people ask
Is removing myself from 192.com free?
Yes. 192.com's removal form is free. You don't need to pay anyone to do it.
Why is my 192.com listing still there?
The most common reason is that the confirmation email wasn't clicked. Check your inbox and junk folder for the email from 192.com and click the link. Also check you filled in a form for every address the listing shows.
Will my details come back?
192.com keeps your name and postcode on a suppression file, so matching details in future data it receives are blocked. If you move, fill in the form for your new address. Opting out of the open register reduces how much new data is sold about you.
Does removing my listing make me ex-directory?
No. Ex-directory is arranged with your landline provider. Removing your 192.com listing doesn't change the national phone directory.
Can I remove a relative from 192.com?
You can include close family members who live at the same address on your form. Each person should agree to it. For an older parent, it's easiest to sit with them and do it together.
